3L Foundation

This weekend, we returned to Thailand! While our adventures there have always been exciting, this one is truly unique in purpose and every day life for us and will create a film to show true living works of art. “The art of walking barefoot” begins principal photography next week in Pattaya!

Once our Kickstarter campaign ended, we have been in a mad scramble to get everything ready to get over there and get busy. The plane tickets, the equipment purchases and rentals, the meetings and coordinating have absorbed every minute we have and then some. But it’s all coming together (at the last minute as usual) and we are also excited to get over there, we can hardly stand it.

Our cinematographer, Dan Garee and I have spent a lot of time over the past couple of weeks testing out our newly arrived equipment. I filmed a conference for a friend of mine to test out some of the components and Dan has been working with his equipment as well. Yesterday, we spent the morning in Columbus getting some shots with the fully assembled rig and everything went flawlessly. We did a mock workflow from the beginning of setting up the equipment, the filming real world practical scenes and bring it back to storm the computers to edit to produce a finished product. You can take a look below to get an idea of how some of our film footage will look as well as get a look at our new friend and cinematographer, Dan who will be joining us for his first adventure in Thailand to film this documentary. We are grateful for his passion, artistry, fellowship and presence on this project. So now it’s time to start packing it up, finishing the last few details and getting ready to head out.

 

 

 

Pam and Ashley arrive first and then Dan and I will follow-up a couple days later. We already have a lot of our story lines ready to pursue in the shot list is coming together. As with the documentary based around the lives and the stories other people will tell you, much of this documentary will take on a life of its own once we begin filming. But I am already feeling a profound sense of joy and creativity at the opportunities and the adventure awaiting us all.
