Iron Chef Thailand: The Sala’s 1st Meal
6.04.2011
It has take us a little bit to get this together, but we are delighted to finally be sharing the memories our first meal taken together with the children in our NEW BEAUTIFUL DINING SALA!! As most of you already know, getting things finished up and the sala ready for use, was not the “quickest” of processes, (to say the very least). Let’s just say we have a whole new appreciation for mastering the art of patience!
Ben Franklin said, “Those that can have patience, can have what they will”, and we most certainly have what we willed and dreamed for these deserving children.
For our very first meal in the new sala with the children, we had a friendly competition of “Iron Chef Thailand” between Pam and Kroo Eet (the village’s master chef!) For those of you who know Pam, friendly and competition do not typically go in the same sentence, but for this special occasion, win or lose, the pride she felt pervaded the evening. For the 3L foundation, our supporters, and the staff and children of the CPDC, this day marks a point in time where beauty in a space and bodily nourishment is from now on an every day occurrence, afforded to children who were in such great need of it.
We built what we dreamed and what we promised. We can now know that every day, three times a day, these children receive delicious meals in a space that is welcoming, clean, and safe. With our commitment to the children and the Dining Sala ever present, we hope that for many, many years to come this special legacy will continue. As always, your continued support is incredibly appreciated and needed as we move forward in our pursuit for these children, so that they LEARN how priceless and cherished they are; That they LAUGH in joy and fellowship; That they fear no risk of LOVE, given or received.
Ashley – I’m so proud of you guys! This is beautiful and amazing!
